Hi, I'm Gemma. I started in Tea Buying in February '07. 

I often get asked how I ended up as a Tea Buyer, particularly since my degree was in Theology.  Admittedly, it was perhaps not the most obvious progression. But, given that when I left university not having a clue what I wanted to do - only knowing that I wanted to do a job I could be passionate about, that would have a strong international element and that would be challenging day to day, I can't help thinking that this was a pretty good choice!

Since I started here, I've tasted innumerable different types of teas, met suppliers from 3 different African countries and been taken on a virtual and sensory tour of the white tea estates of China!

My favourite tea? Hard to say, but Rwandan and KTDA East of Rift would both be near the top of my list!
