I am Katy Tubb and I started as a tea taster here at Tetley over 20 years ago. In that time I have learnt to taste tea, to buy the teas our business requires and to create tea blends that you will want to try.

Now I get to use that experience to head up our team of expert tasters here at Tetley.

I have a great job. Tea is just wonderful; it is a natural product that comes in so many different varieties that it can never be just one thing to all people so there is sure to be a tea out there that you will just love.

I have personally been very involved in the Ethical Tea Partnership since it was just a germ of an idea over 12 years ago; the ETP is an important aspect of the way we do business here at Tetley to ensure we trade fairly and I feel very proud of how far the organisation has come and where it hopes to go. 

It has never been dull working with tea. It tastes great, has such a long and interesting history and it grows in beautiful places; you can't beat the privilege of seeing fields of tea sitting within wonderful landscapes. Tea is drunk by so many people around the world and in varied and different ways. Everyone brings something a bit different to how they like their tea - a bit of their own personality- which is why tea is an important part of the social fabric of life in so many countries.

In short, I get paid to have a hobby - but don't tell my boss!
