Having started with Tetley in 1973 it should not have come as a great surprise to discover that the team now referred to me as Uncle Nige, or that my office was known as UNHQ! -I think it's a compliment?

I currently head up the Buying Team but in my time I have moved through all the various roles within the department and spent a year in Calcutta as part of my training. The highs and lows I've had cover everything from the plane touching down at the wrong end of the runway (but only briefly), to watching clouds form above the jungle in Indonesia. 30 years ago I was a tea purist when only 'proper' tea would do but now my cupboard is full of everything from Camomile and Fennel to White Darjeeling and Oolong - and Tetley Extra Strong, of course.
