trainee tea taster
Hi, I'm Seb, trainee tea taster and USA blender.
I started at Tetley nearly three years ago after a friend sent me the job advertisement as a joke. Reading that I would have the opportunity to travel the world, spend millions of dollars, and taste my favourite drink, it didn't take much for me to apply. As a trainee I get to taste every 'counter' (36 bowls of tea) that is laid, which could mean 400 or 500 in a day. I've slowly learnt to pick up on the different characters and tastes, like 'flowery' or 'malty', even 'raspberry jam'. I would say that my favourite tea is Rwandan. It's very bright, yellow, and has lots of 'zing'.
